Mullineux Family Wines
Mullineux Family Wines is a new South African company, established in 2007 and based in Swartland. It is a joint venture between winemaking couple Chris and Andrea Mullineux and two business partners, Keith Prothero and Peter Dart.
The first vintage to be released is the 2008, and I recently had the opportunity to taste pre-release samples of three of the four wines that make up the range. My understanding is that these are the finished wines, not working samples.

I think this might be a blend, not a straight chenin?
Quite
a creamy, lemony nose with a touch of lanolin. Powerful, rich palate.
It does feel a bit like a sample that needs time to settle and
integrate. 87/100
2008 Mullineux Syrah, Mullineux Family Wines, W.O. Swartland
Very primary black fruits on the nose. Nice smooth, young syrah palate. Very good balance. 87-91/100
2008 Straw Wine, W.O. Swartland, Mullineux Family Wines
250 cases made. Unfiltered & unfined. Air-dried chenin.
A
very attractive, orangey crème brûlée nose. Lovely fresh palate. Sweet
and fresh at the same time, this is in a hugely enjoyable style.
